Bold prayer glorifies Christ. He who learns to use Christ as the way and the door gives Him work to do. And the Intercessor is glorified most through the work of intercession; for He has not come to be served, not even in prayer, but to serve, also in prayer. Bold prayer also glorifies God the Father. It is well-pleasing to God when sinners come to God through Christ, for the Father Himself has said: ‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.’ If you do not see the Son, you will never see the Father. No less is the Holy Spirit glorified here. The same Spirit who clothes with humility also clothes with boldness. True boldness is not a matter of working ourselves up to a state where we feel ourselves worthy before God; the opposite is true.
