Goals of a Missional-Theological Education

A truly missional-theological education aims to: 1) Magnify God in Christ in all of its teaching and learning; 2) Reflect the image of the triune God (who is a communal Being), by learning and growing in community; 3) Make whole disciples of Jesus, whose formation comprises the intellectual, affectional, and volitional capacities of the person; 4) Cultivate communities of Spirit-led disciples who engage peoples and cultures in their own given context, as well as in the global context; and 5) Cultivate the particular gifts and callings in those disciples through mentorship relationships, creative environments, and hands-on training experience(s). In the present philosophy of a missional-theological education, I propose a format in which such goals might be accomplished.
